AquaPalooza 2008 on Boston Harbor a Huge Success
AquaPalooza 2008 on Boston Harbor proved to be a huge success with beautiful weather, great fun, and a record number of attendees. The event, sponsored by Sea Ray, Russo Marine, and Save the Harbor/Save the Bay, took place July 19th from 1pm-5pm on the north side of Peddock’s Island. An estimated 300 boats were present; carrying approximately 1,500 people. This year’s AquaPalooza, which commenced nationwide July 18th in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, anticipated an unprecedented amount of guests. Sea Ray, Russo Marine, and Save the Harbor/Save the Bay, succeeded at achieving this goal locally with the Boston Harbor event.
This year’s party on Boston Harbor kicked off with three bands performing on the “Blues Boat.” This all-day summer party united boaters of all types in celebration of the boating lifestyle. Last year’s event attracted over 100 boats of all makes and models. Although it is a Sea Ray-inspired event, AquaPalooza has grown to include party lovers and across the board brand loyalists. A film crew from Allen Roche Group Advertising and Production agency was onsite to film the event. “As a boater myself, I was excited to see the amount of people coming together to celebrate this great way of life,” says Gene Allen, CEO of Allen Roche Group.
AquaPalooza began in 2006 as a Sea Ray Owners Club event, exclusively for customers of the world renowned marine brand. It has since grown to include boat lovers and party lovers alike. Last year, the marine festival attracted over 10,000 boats and 30,000 guests to 120 events worldwide. This year, 50,000 guests are expected to attend 150 party sites filled with food, fun, games, and special events. The Boston Harbor event, also brought to you by Russo Marine and Save the Harbor/Save the Bay, was just one of these specially designated marine experiences.
Russo Marine is New England’s leading powerboat dealer and a third generation family owned and operated business. They sell the best quality new and pre-owned boats from industry leading brands such as Sea Ray and Boston Whaler, and operate from three full-service facilities in Medford, MA, Boston, MA and Wakefield, RI. Save the Harbor/Save the Bay is a Boston-based advocacy group dedicated to creating cleaner waters for swimming and fishing in Boston Harbor.
